About the FSU Health Plan

The opt-out period for Winter 2024 intake students to opt-out of the FSU Health Plan, opt-in family members, or choose which type of coverage you wish to have ran from Monday, December 4, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. through Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 4:00 p.m.

Full-time registered post-secondary domestic students are automatically covered under the FSU Health Plan for prescription drugs, dental benefits and accident benefits. The information provided on this page applies to DOMESTIC students only. All Fanshawe INTERNATIONAL students are covered under the Morcare health plan. Please visit morcare.ca to view complete plan details, brochures, downloads, family opt-ins, and more. You can also inquire in person at the International Office, Room E2025.

Domestic Health and Dental Coverage

Coverage is available for one full academic year (September 1 to August 31) and includes prescription drugs, dental care, extended health care (vision, physiotherapy, massage therapy, etc.) and accident coverage.

Changes to your coverage can be made before the applicable deadline and include:

Flex Plan Options

Note: All domestic students are automatically enrolled in the Flex Plan Option 1: Balanced Plan.

Choose a plan that suits you:

Flex Plan Option 1: Balanced Plan (auto-enrolled)
Flex Plan Option 2: Enhanced Dental Plan
Flex Plan Option 3: Enhanced Drug/EHC Plan

How to Use Your Health Plan

To utilize your health plan, you will need to provide the following information to your provider to direct bill for you and/or to make an online claim.

  • Group number: 514560
  • Policy number: 100011701
  • Provider: ClaimSecure
  • Certificate ID number: ‘R00’ followed by your 7-digit student number — 10 digits in total (note: it is two zeros after the ‘R’)

Download your Claim Card or pick one up at the FSU Office in SC1000.

Online Claim Submissions

Before you can submit a claim online you must register an eProfile:

  • Go to wespeakstudent.com
  • Select Fanshawe College from the Choose Your School dropdown menu
  • Click on eProfile for ONLINE CLAIMS SUBMISSION
  • Click on Register
  • Follow the prompts and fill out the User Profile (Group ID can be found on your Claim Card and your Certificate ID is "R00" followed by your 7-digit student number)
  • Enter your direct deposit banking information

If you pay for prescription medication, dental work or any other services covered under the FSU Health Plan without using your FANCard , you can submit a claim online or by mail.

To submit a claim online, visit wespeakstudent.com and follow these steps:

  • Click on Submit a Claim
  • Choose the applicable Care Provider/Claim Form
  • Scan and attach your receipt of proof of payment (debit, credit or cash)
  • Select submit

Your claim will be processed within 3–4 business days and your reimbursement will be direct deposited into your account.
