Ancillary fees are charged in addition to tuition and are established in accordance with the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities guidelines. These fees support academic services, athletics and recreation, student facilities, transit passes, health and counselling, and more.
Most ancillary fees are charged once per academic semester (Fall, Winter, or Summer). Two fees, the Domestic Student Health and Dental Fee and the LTC Student Bus Pass, are annual fees and are charged once per academic year, regardless of the number of semesters studied.
As of the 2026-2027 academic year, FSU ancillary fees (excluding the two annual fees) represent roughly 30% of total ancillary fees paid by Fanshawe students, with the remaining almost 70% collected by the College. A semester-by-semester breakdown of FSU ancillary fees is provided below. Visit Fanshawe Colleges Ancillary Fees page for details on college-administered fees.
Summer 2026: $88.49 | Fall 2026: $93.16 | Winter 2027: $93.16
The overall student experience is enhanced by the opportunities provided by FSU. The FSU Student Activitiy Fee guarantees the student body access to FSU Events, Student Services and inititatives that help full time students manage financial, mental, physical and social stresses.Updated for Fall 2026
The FSU Board of Directors have approved an inflationary increase of 2.2 percent beginning in the Fall of 2026. The primary driver for this increase is to keep pace with rising costs – the increase to minimum wage, utilities charges, cost of goods, etc., so that we can continue to deliver comparable levels of service to students while also maintaining our assets and spaces in good condition. The FSU Student Activity Fee includes:
Recreational Programming: FSU Orientation and other events such as Rockstar Karaoke, Sex Toy Bingo, Wrestling, Fuel Esports (Fall 2026 $20.11)

Summer 2026: $21.00 | Fall 2026: $25.00 | Winter 2027: $25.00
The Student Building Fee (London students only) is used to pay for the cost of the Student Centre, including asset management costs, and annual repayment of the loan taken to finance construction of the space. The change to the fee for 2026-27 is an increase from $23.08 to $25.00, or 8.3 percent. Due to continued enrolment growth, this fee was maintained at $25.00 from 2002-03 to 2017-18, and was reduced to $21.00 from 2018-19 to 2024-25, as increasing enrolment was covering the fixed commitment. With projections for reduced enrolment, an increase is required to continue to meet the loan obligations for the building and to keep pace with increasing maintenance and asset management costs.

You may opt out of the following FSU fee:
Domestic Student Health Plan: Paid per semester, opt-out deadline September (Fall term), January (Winter term – new student only), May (Summer term – new student only)*. The Domestic Student Health Plan Fee covers the cost of providing health benefits, including paramedical, psychologist and social worker services. Visit the FSU Health Plan page for more information and to opt-out of this fee (during the opt-out period).
* NOTE: Winter and summer term opt-out dates only apply to students who begin their education in that term. Students who start their education in the Fall must opt-out by the Fall deadline (the Fall deadline for the 2025-2026 academic year was September 15, 2025).
Your deadline for fee payment will depend on the semester you are taking courses in. The best way to keep up with your fee payment deadlines is to familiarize yourself with Fanshawes Fee Dates and Payment Options page *. We recommend bookmarking that page and referring to it if you have questions about fee payment deadlines and other important academic dates.
* NOTE: This schedule is subject to change. Visit that page semi-regularly to ensure you know of any important updates for your fees and education.
If you fail to pay your fees before the specified deadlines or fail to arrange a payment plan for your fees with Financial Services, you may be subject to interest charges, de-registration in future terms, disallowance of future registration until the fees are paid, withholding evaluation of a new application for admission or denial of other services.
Please see the Policies page on Fanshawe Colleges website for a complete list of potential penalties.
The FSU remains committed to student affordability as well as organizational sustainability by continuing to strive to provide impact through valued services through the most efficient and effective means possible. With collaboration from the college, we will continue to develop better methods of communicating fees with students in a transparent way.
