Fanshawe’s Student Union welcomes new executives
for the 2010/2011 year
Here’s a rundown of what they can do for you:

President: Joe Scalia

Details: Makes sure students have every opportunity to achieve success and are informed about all of the
programs and services provided by both the college and the student union. |

VP Finance: Andrew Payne

Details: Oversees all financial decisions of the Fanshawe Student Union, helps students with their financial
concerns; can provide information about finding a job on campus, applying for bursaries, scholarships, awards,
and funding for class trips. |

VP Internal Affairs: Veronica Barahona

Details: Fosters independent clubs and groups within the school, helping them prosper into an experience for
all members. She is the point of contact for volunteer opportunities and the class representative system. |

VP External & Academic Affairs: Malcolm Philp

Details: Provides information and advice on academic appeals, concerns about course outlines or grades. Works with
president on issues concerning academic policies, procedures, and responsible for the relationships between Fanshawe
and other colleges. |

VP Athletics: Derek Howes

Details: Ensures smooth operation of athletics programs, from intercollegiate to intramural. Generates awareness
for athletic programs, scholarships, and more. Works to ensure positive experiences for varsity athletes and
participants throughout the year.

Details: Promotes a healthy balance between academics and entertainment throughout the school year, arranging
events to provide relaxation and release for students. |
