Catering by FSU

Since 2004, Catering by FSU (Fanshawe Student Union) has been providing exceptional dining and event experiences to London and surrounding area.

Our locally sourced, not-for-profit, fully licensed catering services can accommodate a wide variety of large or small events, including conferences, banquets, retirements, working lunches, seminars, wedding receptions and barbecues.

Our professional team is ready to meet all your dietary needs with our healthy, customizable menus. We also have several conveniently located venues to choose from on Fanshawe’s beautiful main campus, or can come to you with our off-site pop-up bars.     Milk, dark or white chocolate fountain served with freshly sliced seasonal fruit. Customized dipping items may be requested.

  • Cash Bar $150.00 setup fee + $25/hr

    A Smart Serve certified bartender will work the bar at an hourly rate of $25.00 including an hour before the event start time for setup and an hour after event end time for clean up. All liquor and bar setup supplies will be provided.

  • Host Bar $150.00 setup fee + $25/hr + cost of liquor served at event

    Beverage requests will be discussed with our Catering Coordinator and your order will be made under the FSU liquor license. Any liquor requested that isn’t FSU stock will be charged whether used for the event or not.

Our Venues

From productive meetings to unforgettable wedding receptions, Catering by Fanshawe Student Union is proud to provide a versatile range of venue options — on-site or off — to suit your event at a competitive value.

There are three areas available for conference planning in the Fanshawe Student Union Building.

    Forwell Hall

    Forwell Hall is currently under construction.

    The Out Back Shack

    The Out Back Shack is our 180-seat full-time bar and restaurant, featuring an excellent roadhouse-style menu and great atmosphere. This room has plenty of character and can be used as a hospitality or party room. We also have an adjoining patio for when the weather is nice.

    The Out Back Shack features an in-house sound system, stage area and big screen capability. We will gladly cater to your food and beverage requirements and can cater to any budget. All of our staff are Smart Serve certified as well.

    The Gamesroom

    The Gamesroom features a large pool room with seven signature red tables and a video arcade room. This space may be rented by the hour, and is a unique space for a social component of a conference.

  • Oasis

    The Student Centre’s Oasis has a wonderful view of the outdoors as well as plenty of natural light for a relaxed atmosphere.

    This Marché-style restaurant can cater to any taste. We can accommodate a banquet for up to 250 people. We can also accommodate any sound and light requirements, and have this room licensed if necessary.

The Fanshawe Student Union has many unique rooms to offer for any sort of meeting, conference or event. In total, the Fanshawe Student Union has seven meeting rooms available for use. All of these rooms include full audiovisual access (TV with HDMI, VDP, Wi-Fi, etc.). Full menus can be offered for each room.

    Boardroom

    Our beautiful boardroom is equipped with a spacious boardroom table and 20 executive-style leather chairs. The room features state-of-the-art audiovisual equipment, as well as a sink and fridge.

    Large second-floor meeting rooms

    We have an additional large upstairs meeting room that can be split into two separate rooms, each accommodating 20 people.

    Alumni Lounge

    Also upstairs is the Alumni Lounge, which includes four differently sized breakout rooms that can accommodate up to 10 people each. The open area can also be used for various functions and can accommodate up to 85 people.

  • Falcon, Peregrine, Merlin House

    Fanshawe College has three residential facilities that can provide accommodations for approximately 1,200 occupants.

    Located only steps away from conference and meeting rooms, these facilities offer great room rates and the following amenities:

    • Air-conditioned suites, with four bedrooms (all with oversized double beds, a desk and internet access)
    • two three-piece bathrooms
    • a kitchenette
    • a furnished living space (with cable TV and telephones)
    • Furnished lounges on each floor with pool tables, TVs, ping pong tables, etc.

Our Catering Services Coordinator will take care of organizing your accommodation bookings, along with coordinating custodial services, security services and event set-up/tear-down services.

Conference Services

Our team will provide general conference services and work to meet on-site social function requirements. We also offer guidance on an as-needed basis in the form of on-call assistance throughout your event.

We provide meal plan program information and bar services. We are also equipped to come to the location of your choice with full food, beverage and bar services.

Resources

We are prepared to offer a wide range of resources including PA and audiovisual equipment, whiteboards, drapes and lights. Our Catering Services Coordinator will help to arrange cross rentals for tables, table clothes, cutlery and glassware etc. as well.
